I have had an HP Pavilion HPE h9-1135 Phoenix Desktop PC since December of 2012 and the fan has always seemed rather noisy. Even while the computer is idle (on but I'm not doing anything) it seems to be working rather hard. I checked the speed in the BIOS and it seems to run at ~3800 rpms constantly. This seems rather extreme since the computer isn't being stressed, is cleaned of dust/etc. and is stored in a cool environment (~72F). Looking trough HP's support information basically says update BIOS (did that), clean (did that) and then replace. Is there really no other solution? The computer seems to run fine jus the noise is annoying. I don't want to lose my PC for a couple weeks over this issue so any other fixes would be appreciated.
