I have had my Compact computer for 5 years.
About 2 weeks ago the mother board went on the computer...I sent it out to be repaired. The person repairing my computer had a family emergency and had to leave the state.
He took my hard drive and placed it in an old Emachine he had, so that I wouldn't be completely computerless until his return.
I have been using this computer for 2 weeks now with no problem, until tonight.
I keep getting a message that I have to put my serial number into my computer or purchase a new serial number.
I don't have access to my computer...it is locked in a shop waiting to be repaired.
I have no desire to purchase another product serial number...also, It wouldn't be compatable to this Emachine.
I'm not sure what to do at this point.
I have already picked out my new computer which is going to be a Christmas gift from my family. My intention was to repair the old one for my grand daughter.
Any suggestions?
I called support...but the woman I spoke to didn't seem to understand my problem.
