Transfer data from old comuter Windows Vista to new computer Windows 8.1

I recently purchased a new HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC.  I need to transfer everything that I can from the old computer (Compac Presario) using Windows Vista Basic to the new computer using Windows 8.1.  I have found info on about everything except transfering from Vista to 8.1.  I do have an easy transfer cable.  Help!  Thanks.
